Tron Founder Justin Sun Elected Prime Minister of Liberland
Tron founder Justin Sun has added a new title to his name—prime minister of Liberland. This week, the micronation of Liberland, a theoretical European state, announced Sun's appointment as its head of state.
But what does this mean practically? It's a debatable issue depending on who you ask. Liberland claims a disputed 2.7-mile uninhabited floodplain that lies between Croatia and Serbia. Currently, no nation recognizes Liberland, and individuals trying to enter it have been arrested by Croatian authorities.
Despite these challenges, Liberland's founders assert that they have enlisted 1,000 Digital citizens and are working towards building a libertarian utopia. This vision has garnered support from the Crypto community, which tends to be critical of traditional governments.

Liberland also positions itself as a Crypto haven that aims to conduct government operations on its Blockchain network. The micronation envisions passing Crypto-friendly laws and implementing a Decentralized hyperdemocracy with on-Chain voting mechanisms. Last year, a Reuters report revealed that Liberland holds 99% of its Currency reserves in Bitcoin.
With his new role as prime minister, Justin Sun will focus on realizing Liberland's vision. This position replaces his previous title as ambassador to the World Trade Organization for Grenada. Sun remains enthusiastic about promoting small government and libertarian principles within Liberland, hoping to set an example for other nations.
"I aim to actively promote the idea of small government not only within Liberland but also as a model for the world," said Sun in a statement to Decrypt. "Our success can inspire other nations to embrace libertarian principles."
